Patient Relations Representive Intern
June - August 2018 • Portland, OR
What I liked
I was able to gain extensive knowledge in the career field that I am going to be entering. I learned to work with many different databases , on top gaining connections for future opportunities. Every one that I met was super nice and understanding if I needed help or had questions.
What I wish was different
The only thing I would change was in the beginning I wasn't sure what clinic I was going to be in until the day of, so that was a little frustrating because I wasn't able to contact my supervisor before I met her and let her know who I was.
Advice
I would recommend this internship to anyone. It was super helpful in finding a career path that I want to take and what would fit for me.

Operational Excellence Intern
June - August 2018 • Portland, OR
What I liked
At this internship, I enjoyed the level of responsibility I was given. I also learned many useful tools, including Microsoft SharePoint and Visio, as well as SmartSheet, and increased my skill knowledge in Microsoft Excel. Overall, my supervisors and coworkers were also friendly and easy to talk to, and I learned a lot about what career field I want to go into.
What I wish was different
I wish the internship had been longer.
Advice
The main piece of advice I would give future interns is to use this as an opportunity to network, and for personal development. Although I interned in the Operational Excellence department, I conducted informational interviews with employees in many different departments. Prior to this internship, I had a general idea that I wanted to go into the field of Public Relations, but I was very unsure. Through networking, I was able to meet with the director of Community Relations, and realized that I want to pursue a career path similar to hers.
