Enjoyed the hands-on experience with all aspects of hydraulic fracturing operations. Also really benefitted from the group projects and presentations with the other interns. This was a great overall experience and I learned a lot about frac operations and the industry as a whole.
What I wish was different
The only issue was that we had to find and pay for our own housing during the internship. Housing in Midland is expensive and short term leases are hard to come by and more expensive still. If they don't pay for housing in the future I recommend rooming with another intern.
Advice
Be prepared for long hours Mon-Wed in the West Texas sun. Get to know the frac hands and ask a lot of questions to them and the engineers or company men. This is a great opportunity to learn from some really great people.
