“The Medical Experience Academy (MedEx) is a program designed to develop student interest in healthcare and prepare students for medical school by allowing exposure to medical school style lectures, extensive clinical shadowing hours, research experience, test preparation, and one-on-one mentoring. I was first selected to participate in Tier II during the summer of 2017 and have continued to participate each summer, graduating to Tier III in 2018, and Tier IV in 2019. The opportunities I have gained through MedEx have been invaluable in preparing me for medical school, allowing me a chance for self-reflection, professional development, and an understanding of the depth of the medical field.”
