Princeton Internships in Civic Service (PICS)

About Princeton Internships in Civic Service (PICS)

About PICS
PICS provides the opportunity for students to explore potential careers in public service and the non-profit sector. Princeton students bring their creativity, skills, and energy to their sponsoring non-profit organizations, producing effective, meaningful work on significant projects of value to the organizations. The internships encompass a wide range of endeavors in national and international organizations, working in group advocacy, legal services, public policy, the environment, health and social services, community development, education, and the arts. Princeton alumni serve as partners to the student interns. The internship partnering program promotes the development of important and long-lasting connections between alumni and current and recent undergraduates.

PICS Mission
To develop and support, through active alumni involvement, paid summer internships for Princeton undergraduates in civic service that positively affect the public interest and the students themselves.

PICS Vision Statement
To enable the PICS program to serve more Princeton students, exposing them to the rewards and challenges of a career in the non-profit sector, and promoting a continuing commitment to support a non-profit organization of their choice while pursuing another career.

Intern at The Resource Foundation

June 2017 - August 2017 New York City, NY
“I loved that I was doing something meaningful. Working for a small nonprofit can be really rewarding, especially since you get a chance to make your voice heard in meetings. I felt like my coworkers were all very open to teaching and also ready to listen to my ideas. ”
