What I wish was different
I want to say that this internship experience was pleasant and a great learning opportunity, but I cannot.
As a graduate student having worked in a professional environment, I was expecting clear communication, clear expectations, and clear guidance on all assignments, tasks, and ad hoc projects.
More often than not, I was left isolated, dismissed, or verbally scolded when I asked questions regarding the tasks assigned. There is a lack of standard operating procedures for any of the processes that exist within the Praescient Analytics HR office.
It was clear that requesting any written guidance was ignored due to your lack of responsiveness to the virtual team's emails. There is a difference between a virtual intern and an in-person intern. It is apparent that in-person interns are privy to training, guidance, and support that virtual interns never receive. This distinct contrast is not a hidden practice; it is quite blatant.
