About Power Construction Company, LLC

Founded in 1926, Power is a management-owned commercial construction company that focuses on the greater Chicago metro area while also serving clients around the country. With annual revenue of $1.5 billion and a professional staff of more than 450, Power is regarded as one of Chicago's most respected large construction companies.

Our aim is simple...understand the expectations of clients, architects, subcontractors, and our own people…then work hard to exceed those expectations. We are builders. We crave being in the field and share an appetite for 'doing the right thing.' We believe that bringing diverse perspectives together helps foster stronger outcomes. We are driven to improve our process, hire the right people and help them grow. We believe construction is more than a business of bricks and mortar; it is a business of people and service. As such, our company’s organizational depth and stability are essential to success.

What if Power was the last new job you ever had? Our practice has always been to grow from within, allowing team members to build a long term career that’s just as solid as our buildings. Instead of viewing your role at Power as simply a next step, we hope you’ll see it as your professional home, where you can grow, evolve and advance. And you’ll know that you’re valued because of the mentorship, training, benefits and advancement opportunities you experience.

Join us in creating your dream job, and you’ll be an instrumental part of the Power success story being written every day.

Operations Technology Intern

“I really liked writing software to help all the other departments ”

Construction Project Management Intern

June 2019 - September 2019 Chicago, IL
“The amount of people who wanted to help me was flattering. I came from a smaller General Contractor in the same intern position and the employees were not as helpful as I thought they should be. However, at Power anytime I had a look of question on my face somebody was already asking me to ask them a question. Also, the amount of activities they give their interns outside of working on projects is amazing. We had three different outings we could have gone on to bond with other interns and full-time employees. ”
