I presented my research to my fellow scholars, a board of Principle Investigators, and some our grant writers from NIH and OHSU. It was a great networking experience and I felt overwhelmingly loved and supported by research community.

Advice
It's daunting--especially for those of us that identify as minorities---to get involved in fields that have a history of excluding and disenfranchising our narratives. However, the hardest step is getting over impostor syndrome and remembering that we're capable of diversifying and reshaping science, research, and beyond. Have faith in yourself, stand firmly, and remember your experiences have a purpose and you can go so much further!
