I would say to ask questions or ask if there is anything you can help out with.

Engineering Aide
June 2019 • New York City, NY
What I liked
It was a different look at the administrative side of architecture. Specifically, I enjoyed that I was working with the client of a usual architecture firm. I was on the final end of architectural contracts which was really interesting to be a part of. They were extremely helpful in teaching and getting me involved. Also, I got to work with the World Trade Center all summer.
What I wish was different
I enjoyed everything about it. They made sure that I was in an area that involved my major and interest.
Advice
Don't be afraid to ask for help or ask about anything you want to learn more about.

Brand & Customer Partnerships Assistant Intern

What I liked
A lot of freedom and independence, which gives the ability to meet other employees. Company culture is very welcoming, and individuals are very helpful to interns.
What I wish was different
Your experience will depend on your manager, and many times you have to ask for work or ask others for something to do. A lot of self-learning sometimes, and not as clear directives.
Advice
Take the time to meet as many people as you can.

I liked how hands on it was. They actually had me doing work that was important to operations. Not your typical useless intern busy work. I was in the World Trade Center Construction Department so I got to tour the World Trade Center site including the Freedom Tower.
