Point to Point Systems

Engineering intern

May - August 2022 • Dayton, OH

What I liked

I loved the atmosphere and the people I worked with. Working here makes you feel like family and not just a number. I also liked the aspect that you get to work in the office and also work on site so you are not sitting only at your desk all day. I got to work in alot of different areas while there that were all new and intersting.

What I wish was different

I wish that i got to work more hands on in the sense that i would do some work on sight versus for the most part just going to check out how the job was going.

Advice

I went in not knowing to much about HVAC controls and what role they played but trying somthing new was a very fun adventure.

Computer Engineering Co-op

August - December 2021 • Dayton, OH

What I liked

My favorite part of working at Point to Point was how close everyone was and how anyone was willing to help as long as they were able too. The company does good work and focuses on making sure the customer is happy so working for them really does feel like you are doing a service even if it is paid. I enjoyed getting to see the office side and field side of HVAC and seeing just what a controls company does since I had no idea before working for them.

What I wish was different

I was their first intern/co-op so there really was not a system in place for me. I wish there was since it would help with communication, but just as it was a learning experience for me it was for them too and as time went on, the experience improved with it.

Advice

The controls industry can be monotonous. If HVAC and controls is something you are considering getting into, you need to be ok with doing almost the same thing everyday.
