The part I enjoyed the most was coming up with decorations for events to host alumni back on campus. The entire experience of reaching out to people, creating Facebook/Instagram posts, and figuring out the itinerary was valuable as I was taught how to do events such as these and the ability to network. Once the alumni came for the event as an Assistant I was able to greet and hear stories about my own school from those who graduated.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have been more involved with events that were not just in Plymouth or on campus because it would've been interesting to see what alumni are doing in that area.
Advice
I would suggest having good communication and organizational skills before taking this job. As not only is it a desk job but its also about interacting with alumni and donors and creating connections.
