What I liked

The gym environment not only pertains to my current passion for fitness and bodybuilding, but the atmosphere of the members and staff really encourage and support one another and welcome each individual.

What I wish was different

I enjoy being more hands on, so while usually I am kept pretty busy, there are times where it is slow and standing at the desk becomes boring.

Advice

Do not let the occasional rude customer get to you. Most of the members are very kind and it is only the very few who get upset with you and it is not personal. I count all the good things both big and small and try to see the issues as opportunities to a) work something out with that person, and b) grow and learn from that situation.

What I liked

I enjoyed the workplace atmosphere. The staff was friendly and easy to get along with. The manager was kind and understanding and easy to talk to, yet always made sure the staff was on task.

What I wish was different

Nothing in particular in terms of the job or. staff.

Advice

Stay on task and do your assigned work. This job involves a lot of cleaning outside of the stuff you'd expect to do like signing people up for memberships and selling merchandise. Cleaning is important in order to keep the gym presentable.
