I like the flexibility in my job. I also like being able to oversee certain areas in the restaurant (Front of House, Phone, Cut, etc.). I also really like my coworkers.
What I wish was different
I wish we had more communication about parties, large orders, catering, and events. These are all things that are improving, though!
Advice
Be kind. Working in a restaurant, it's easy to get frustrated with customers and your coworkers. Being aggressive and rude does not help anyone. Everyone has a story that may be unseen. Being kind and legendary can impact everyone you meet.

What I liked
It was close to home and school, but also payed well enough. Also I grew to like the people that work there.
What I wish was different
Workers would be in bad moods around each other, but only some times. Mostly it was the customers who would do something anxiety inducing. Perhaps they need a better system for dish washing.
Advice
It’s a lot of standing, walking, and conversing with customers. So try not to worry about hours and just do things that make you feel good while working. If you keep an eye on the clock time will drudge on.

Pizza Ranch is a great franchise to work for. They have amazing values throughout the whole company itself. It is a great way to get involved in the food business and also can lead to lots of connections and to help you with your communication skills.

Take every day and use it to your advantage. Go to work ready to attack the day no matter the situation.
