What I liked

The fast-paced environment of an MLB organization was an incredible experience.

I wish interns had more opportunities to shadow other departments to gain more knowledge and experience.

Advice

If you work for an MLB team, get ready to work long, hectic hours.

Trackman Operator

April - August 2019 • Indianapolis, IN

What I liked

I loved the atmosphere! Working in Minor League baseball and with the amazing coworkers that I had was definitely an experience of a lifetime.

What I wish was different

I wish my commute could have been less since I commuted from Terre Haute to Indy for every home game.

Advice

Introduce yourself to everyone you meet in the field of sport. This is because you’ll never know who could help you land that big job one day.

Ticket Sales & Service Intern

May - August 2018 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

I liked selling to people and convincing them to spend their money. The satisfaction I got with each sale was awesome and it's something I really enjoyed. Also, my fellow interns were very easy to interact with and we all worked well together as a team. Lastly, the Pirates organization is very helping and always looking out for each other.

What I wish was different

I wish that we were not selling the Kids' Club memberships, rather I wish we were selling actual tickets, however the Kids' Club packages included tickets so it was an indirect way of selling tickets which still helped me grow my sales skills.

Advice

Come ready to work and formulate a sales pitch to use and ask questions to pretty much walk people into a sale.
