The program was extremely comprehensive. We met every department of the museum and went on tours with the curators. We also had colloquia and plenty to do within our own departments. I loved how much I got to see behind the scenes. It really felt like I was contributing to a bigger picture.
What I wish was different
There were times I felt it would not be great if you can’t walk long distances for long periods.
Advice
It’s valuable how extensive the program is, but it can be a lot to take in. Make sure to ask as many questions as you can, both from employees and from fellow interns. Everyone has valuable wisdom to share.

What I liked
I liked that we, the interns, were given tours of different departments within the Museum because it gave us all a chance to understand the different components behind running a world-class museum. I particularly enjoyed teaching students in different galleries and being able to interact with artworks in person.
What I wish was different
I wish that this internship was a paid internship.
Advice
I would advise others to personally connect with not just your mentors, but also with the other interns. Go get lunch or coffee outside of the internship. You never know what can come from making a simple connection.

What I liked
I loved working at a museum and the series of workshops and talks we had from every department in the museum. My supervisors had time to mentor me, and I appreciated their guidance.
