I liked that the employees in the Quality department treated me like a member of their family. I was able to get first-hand experience working in an office environment and take on various projects.
What I wish was different
I applied to be a Human Resources Intern but it was not until I completed an interview that I was informed that I would be used as Quality Assurance Intern with "HR intern capabilities". During the full duration of my internship, I did not receive any Human Resources related task or projects. This was major disappointment for me. I do believe that the Human Resources department could have been much more forthcoming about the responsibilities of the job position. None of the listed job responsibilities were responsibilities I was actually given. I wish that the company would have been more considerate of my work experience needs.
Advice
I would advise that college students have a solid understanding of the job responsibilities prior accepting an internship. Be open to learning but also be firm in your expectations. My internship experience could have been much more beneficial, had there been better communication.
