What I liked

This is a beautiful summer camp that has an extremely strong team of counselors that work together to make a magical summer for the kids. Everyone there was so hardworking and they were there because they loved working with the kids. By the end of the summer, all of staff was like a family.

What I wish was different

I wish we had a staff training rather than jumping straight into the summer with campers.

Advice

Working with kids in this setting is an experience unlike any other. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend working at a summer camp.

Camp Counselor

What I liked

I love working at my camp. This camp raised me as well as helped me grow into a confident leader, and i absolutely love working with so many children from all different walks of life. This job is a great way for a young adult to gain leadership skills, organization skills, compassion, and just have a ton of fun!

What I wish was different

I just wish that I had a director position. Going into the summer I did not apply for a position with more responsibility because I felt I was not ready , but as the summer started I realized I would've loved and been really good at a aquatics director position.

Advice

Do what you love even if it does not pay well. I may have not made as much money as I would've liked, but I would not trade my summer job for anything.
