What I liked

Working for Per Scholas St. Louis has been an amazing experience. Not only was the atmosphere welcoming, but the entire team was supportive. I always felt safe to be my authentic self within this organization. I was never afraid to make mistakes as everyone was very understanding and patient- and as an intern, you are bound to make mistakes. There were also many opportunities outside the office too, such as networking events so I could improve more than just my marketing skills.

What I wish was different

The one thing I wish I had throughout this internship was a mentor. Because Per Scholas St. Louis is such a small site, there are not many members on the team- making me the only marketing professional for the St. Louis Campus. Because of this, I did not have a marketing mentor to look up to, learn from, or ask specific questions. However, with that being said, I would also like to point out that whenever I became stuck, I knew I could ask anyone else on the team for help and they would do whatever they could to assist me.

Advice

My one piece of advice would be to take risks. Don't be afraid to ask questions or step out of your comfort zone. This team has supported me every step of the way. They are the nicest people I have ever met and will do anything to see you succeed.
