What I liked
It was very hands on. They allowed us to walk the floor of the plant on our own and really get a feel for our projects. We had the opportunity to be independent and learn on our own, but were able to ask for guidance if we felt like we needed it. They made us feel as much a part of the Frito-family as people who had been there for decades.
The managers and front line team members were knowledgeable and willing to help. If they didn't know the answer to a question, they could point you in the direction of somebody else to ask.
The HR leaders ensured that all of us were prepared for final presentations. We had a presentation every week to practice, and we were able to get feedback from different people at each one.
We had the opportunity to shadow a supply chain leader--the role we would be hired into if given a full time offer. It was a good experience to see what we would actually be doing day-to-day if we were hired.
We had flexible hours--as long as we were hitting our 40 hours a week we could schedule our hours how we wanted. With Frito-Lay being a 24 hour business, this meant we could work off-shifts as well to get a better feel for what the plant is like not on 1st shift.
