What I liked

I had a great experience during my internship! The people I worked with were supportive, friendly, and engaging. I was able to take on a lot of responsibility and felt as if my opinions were valued. I appreciated the flexible work hours and intern-specific events (such as the "Coffee Break Series," where interns heard from senior leadership members and asked questions).

What I wish was different

Advice

Take initiative! I was able to explore a lot of areas of interest by talking to my manager. I also recommend reaching out and talking to people at the company.

Advice

Branch out and talk to as many people as possible while you're working there. Everyone is super helpful!

What I liked

Pega is a great company! Agile and Scrum methodologies for engineering teams, great managers and teammates, encouraging and supportive environment, and a really incredible product that's powerful and cool to work on (used in nearly all sectors including at big banks like American Express and far-reaching companies like Coca-Cola). Structured intern program that was fun and helped me meet other interns at the company. Java-based company, which I really liked. I had a great experience as a intern and I'll be returning after graduation full-time!

What I wish was different

Engineering needs a better way to quickly onboard new employees with the resources engineers need to use, the help available to them internally, and who to talk to if they have problems with new technology. They're working on it, but it was a slow on-boarding start because of it.
