I enjoyed having the experience to work with a hotel and see the ins and outs of hospitality. I was able to work directly with customers and staff from different departments. This allowed for me to understand the needs/demands that my job required of me to have happy guests and smooth running employee interactions.
What I wish was different
I wish there was a better understanding with other departments. With room service, head of housekeeping and head of food had a lot of expectations from room service that was not always in our control. I believe there should be a conversation with the different departments.
Advice
Do not let the job get to you. It is a good job that can allow room for growth.
