What I liked

I loved this job! I was given this opportunity to increase my exposure to the world of Healthcare. I worked on designing and writing educational pieces for patients who struggled with healthcare insurance issues. This ranged from drug tiers, referrals, co-pays, covered/uncovered services, etc. I also worked within their online resource database to make sure all the resources are still current. These included sources of food, shelter, clothing, scholarships, medication assistance and much more. I am studying to be a dietitian and will be working very closely with a wide range of patients, so it was a great experience for me to see a little bit of the other side.

What I wish was different

I wish I coudl have stayed longer!! I loved this job, and I feel like it got cut short due to the location and having to travel back to Ohio for school.

Advice

Reach outside of your network and comfort zone. Take a chance at something. I would encourage anyone with an opportunity like this to be self-motivated, eager to learn and willing to do whatever it takes.
