What I liked

The kids are absolutely wonderful, and the staff and supervisors are very friendly and welcoming.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been a little more constructive feedback from superiors as I progressed through the internship.

Advice

It is definitely a good opportunity if you're thinking about going into ABA therapy or any type of rehabilitation because you do gain a lot of experience working with kids on the autism spectrum.

What I liked

I liked the team atmosphere with supporting supervisors and therapists. Also, each day was never the same so there was a lot of flexibility and adaptability. I felt the training sessions prepared me well for different parts of ABA therapy I was required to use with different clients on the autism spectrum.

What I wish was different

Advice

I think this is a great internship for anybody going into a field of teaching or therapy in which they will need to adapt to diverse populations.

What I liked

This facility particularly specializes in providing care for children with Autism. I loved how every child was different. I got to work with about 7 boys consistently during my time there, and I got to know them individually. My highlight of the job was watching them play during water day outside (wearing swim suits jumping in pools, hoses, playing with water toys, etc)

What I wish was different

The training was well rounded in general, however, I thought it was a lot of information to process at once. I think the way they presented the information could've been done differently. Because you're actually learning how to provide effective behavior therapy, it can seem extraneous in the beginning.
