I learned to keep up with a fast pace environment and it’s something that I can take into my teaching career in the future.

Delivery Driver
June 2019 • Ann Arbor, MI
What I liked
There are really good tips, and it's fun because I love driving.
What I wish was different
I wish the hours were better and the pay was more reasonable. Extremely high employee turnover for drivers, too.
Advice
Be ready for constant switches between very fast-paced work and having nothing to do between deliveries. I'd still say it's worth the tips.

Delivery Driver
July - September 2019 • Kansas City, MO
What I liked
I enjoyed the diverse tasks that I got to do at work each day. It never got boring because it was always changing.
What I wish was different
I wish that the company had at least one more delivery driver. It was not sustainable or productive for me to be the only delivery driver during the rush hours.
Advice
I believe that everyone should work in fast food or retail at least once, because the customer service experience is one of a kind. It also helps you resonate with the people working these jobs that you see in daily life.

July 2016 • Glenmont, NY
What I liked
Flexible hours, good pay, and they understood when I had to take time off for college.
What I wish was different
The head manager was a grouchy, old man who very few people (customers, co-workers, and even other managers) enjoyed working and interacting with.
Advice
If you do your job and work hard it will be an enjoyable work experience.

September 2019 • Escondido, CA
What I liked
I really the environment here everyone one is very friendly and are willing to help you and give you advise.
What I wish was different
I would definitely tell them I could not be opener. Being a student and having to work at 5 a.m is very tiring i would have loved to work round my school schedule and work in the evenings.
Advice
over all put yourself out there. Don't be afraid to find a job just because you are a full time student. If that doesn't work for you try finding work on school campus or get involved with clubs.

Cashier/Barista
April 2019 • Farmington, MI
What I liked
I enjoyed the experience of talking to customers and the fast pace environment. Being a shy individual, the position helped me become more confident interacting with people.
What I wish was different
The pay is hourly and adjusted because the customers are allowed to tip. The tips are spilt between all the employees so they don’t add much to the pay.
Advice
This is a good starting job if you are a high school or college student and want spending money.

Cashier
October 2018 • Boise, ID
What I liked
I love the fast paced work environment.
What I wish was different
It's really hard to cross train. It's on the employee to try to make it happen. They have to see you performing the job most times before they will actually allow you to start the training process so you can be certified in the new section. Becoming a trainer didn't give me a wage increase or any other real benefit.
Advice
Be vocal about what you want. The managers in my cafe are really nice, but tend to be forgetful on things they've told me I'm going to be doing (like cross-training) or that I'm due for a break. Keep telong them so they can stay on track and get you to what you need to happen.
