What I liked
I like the interpersonal communication with employees as well as customers. I got to promote the company brand by wearing their products and expressing the good quality and Pacsun's values to customers through my daily interactions. I've worked at Pacsun for over 3 years now and I really enjoy the fast pace experience of retail work.
What I wish was different
Since I've been working here since highschool, I feel stagnant in my career growth. Retail sales isn't something I want to pursue later in life so I just felt like I was filling up my time. I wish I had gotten more of a feel for the corporate world or worked to develop my professional skills more.
Advice
If you like fast paced environments, Pacsun is a perfect place to learn how to adapt to unhappy customers, situations you wouldn't expect to encounter which gives great problem solving skills. I think retail is a great first job for students to gain experience and transferable skills.
