Great company, great employees. The internship experience provided the opportunity to learn about all of the different areas an actuary might rotate through.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have actually worked in the Omaha branch, but was unfortunately remote. However, they did a great job with transitioning us to remote work and even extended my internship into the Fall (it was meant to be a summer 2020 internship).
Advice
Ask as many questions as you can of the actuaries that you meet.

Internal Wholesaling Intern
May 2018 • Omaha, NE
What I liked
The work culture at Pacific Life is second to none. If you want to be apart of a company that encourages a strong work-life balance and truly cares about their employees, I would recommend looking at Pacific Life.
What I wish was different
It was only 20 hours a week during the summer. I would have liked more hours.
Advice
I would take full advantage of the opportunity that being an intern at Pacific Life teaches one howto improve your interpersonal and communication skills with financial advisors.

Wholesaling Intern
May 2018 • Omaha, NE
What I liked
Pacific Life does a fantastic job of taking care of their employees. We had golf outings, free food, and everyone is so relaxed and welcoming. It was not like I was an intern, I was just as important as the top guy.
What I wish was different
The only part I did not like was sitting at a desk. I think that Pacific Life could change this up by having more of a startup environment with comfy couches and possibly laptops.
Advice
Constantly learn and constantly grow your network because you never know when your connections will come in handy.
