Corporate Communications and Marketing Intern

January 2022 • Cleveland, OH

What I liked

Throughout my internship with Olympic Steel, the projects I have been given as an intern are packed with so much to learn. I have never been given any “busy work”, and my knowledge and skills are utilized by the rest of the team. I am given opportunities to complete projects that actually benefit the company as a whole, and allow me the benefits of real-life experience. Not only am I given opportunities to expand on my existing knowledge, but given opportunities to strengthen my weaker points as well. Overall, this has been a fantastic experience that I feel is preparing me well for life after graduation.

What I wish was different

I wish we had more opportunities to meet in person, but that did not take away from the overall experience of the job.

Advice

Soak up everything you can! Olympic Steel wants to send their interns off with as much resume-building experience as possible, so it would benefit you to really just be a sponge during this time and take in all the information you possibly can.
