I liked working with a group of like-minded individuals working towards a common goal.
What I wish was different
I would’ve preferred a debriefing on how to talk to voters. Specifically, what to emphasize about the politics of the candidate.
Advice
I would advice others to have an extreme patience and understanding for other’s point of views. Most of the time, knowing that you don’t have all the answers leads to a friendlier encounter and a development of people skills.

Policy Intern
January - May 2018 • Washington, DC
What I liked
An experience in DC is like none other. Being in the middle of the speed in DC you really learn a lot in a short amount of time
What I wish was different
I wish I could have grown better relationships with the office staff, mostly the legislative aids.
Advice
Don't be nervous to reach out for meetings, sometimes they won't get back to you, but don't take it personally, these are very busy people. Also, take time to relax, the days can feel repetitive and long, but find the small things that help you get through the day (i.e. music, talking, coffee, etc.)

Congressional Intern
July - August 2017 • Washington, DC
What I liked
It was an incredible opportunity to work alongside legislative staff members specializing in areas such as Education policy, healthcare, or the committees that Senator Warren is part of.
What I wish was different
There was a substantial amount of administrative work and many tasks were tedious or repetitive, but throughout the experience it was clear that they overarching goals of these tasks were very important for functioning of the office and connections between Massachusetts constituents and their representation.
Advice
The internship period is short but intensive, so make sure to be fully engaged and learn as much as you can from the staff of this office, they are amazing! Also make sure to have policy questions for Elizabeth Warren, because she loves to practice for press releases with the interns.
