What I liked

As a student intern with the OCI Group, I not only gained invaluable experiences but also found a renewed motivation to exceed expectations and pursue a law degree. At OCI, I worked on projects spanning policy, city government, public affairs, education, and governmental relations. The partners at OCI made me feel valued, welcomed, and listened to. They treated me as a partner rather than just an intern, profoundly influencing my experience. I am deeply thankful for the mentorship and opportunities I received at OCI, which continue to inspire my desire to serve my community as they have taught me.

What I liked

The vast scope of OCI Group's work allowed plenty of flexibility for projects to focus on. Through the course of my internship, I was able to work on projects related to education, housing, broadband and digital connectivity, leadership development, and economic development, as well as local and state legislation related to these areas. I learned about both the administrative and field work necessary for different projects and correspondingly improved my research, data analysis, and writing skills. I most appreciated the positive work environment and sense of community between the partners at OCI Group. I felt included as part of the team and always felt that my input was sought after and valued. I not only gained field knowledge and strengthened my professional skills, but I also had opportunities to connect with community members. An internship with OCI Group is a valuable experience that allows interns to grow personally and professionally through exposure to diverse projects and guidance from the firm's partners.
