This internship taught me a lot about how IT works at the state government level. The level of collaboration that occurs during an IT project was like nothing I had experienced in school. I worked with people who have been doing what they do for 30 years. They taught be a lot about what they learned in all that time, and I am sure that it will come useful in my own career.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to start earlier so that I could have worked more before returning to school in the Fall.
Advice
Take every opportunity to learn more about the processes that take place for the development of new software - even if it's not a task that you need to provide deliverables for, you will learn a whole lot more about the project as a whole.
