Rehabilitation and Education Intern

May 2021 - August 2021 Minocqua, WI
“This internship provided me with a wide variety of hands-on experiences in a welcoming work environment! You truly get to assist with every aspect of the rehabilitation process. Throughout the internship, you learn animal care protocols, handling skills, and basic medical procedures for a wide variety of species. On a weekly or bi-weekly basis, you also get the opportunity to lead educational tours of the wildlife center. If desired, the staff is happy to help you take on additional projects to fit your interests, such as socializing and handling ambassador animals. The wildlife center is located in a beautiful small town surrounded by lakes, which becomes a big tourist area over the summer. Plus, housing and a small stipend are provided and you get two days off each week-- something hard to come by in this field!”
