What I liked
I love everything about my experience thus far with Northwestern Mutual in Coral Gables but if I had to pick one thing that really sticks out to me it would be the people who work here. It feels like we are a family looking out for one another and pushing each other to be as successful as possible. Everyone is usually available to be a helping hand and guidance for you which is huge when you are an intern trying to learn about the wealth management business and are presenting yourself as a professional for the first time to everyone you meet.
What I wish was different
The only thing I can wish is having began my internship sooner in my college career. Since I’ve started interning here it has been nothing but enjoyable and extremely resourceful.
Advice
A piece of advice for anyone considering doing this internship would be attacking it head on and making the most of your initial 10 week period so that you can get offered to stay for another semester. The amount of useful thing you learn about the real world, finances, work life, etc. is right here in this office and you really won’t come across better people than the ones working here every day. If you enjoy the work and put your mind to it you can carve out a tremendous opportunity for yourself and other by taking on this career. It’s the epitome of impacting other people’s lives.
