I learned skills that cannot be learned in a classroom, including how to park a boat next to a dock, and how to tie useful knots. In addition, the scenery and experiences were outstanding, as well as the saltwater fishing after work.
What I wish was different
The coworkers could have been more easy-going.
Advice
Be prepared to be away from social media for unknown periods of time, because most sites you work at are remote and you can't get service and/or wifi. There is not much scientific work, as it is more of farmwork raising fish or spawning them. However, it is a great way to get your feet wet in the fisheries or wildlife biology field.
