What I liked

I enjoyed looking through applicant resumes to determine if an applicant would be a good fit for the company. It helped me learn what employers specifically look for in resumes and what to add to a resume to make it stand out. I can use this knowledge to improve my own resume as I apply to graduate schools and future careers.

What I wish was different

I wish I had received more training before the individual training me went on maternity leave. I was comfortable asking questions, but I believe that I could have been more helpful and effective with my work if I had received more than 1-2 days of short training.

Advice

One piece of advice is to ask questions! More often than not, others want to help you succeed and prefer that you ask questions. That way, you can avoid making multiple mistakes. When asking questions and communicating, ensure that you ask your employer how they would prefer to communicate (such as through email, Slack, text, or something else).
