I enjoyed working alongside engineers and learning the everyday responsibilities required of an industrial engineer. Even though I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering, I had the opportunity to learn how the style engineers use to communicate and the basic skills an engineer needs in the workplace.
What I wish was different
I wish experienced employees had more time to dedicate to training me more in depth. I was able to work with machines throughout the plant and QA lab, but there was not much time for me to learn the specifics of how each machine worked. Hopefully in the future of my job at Nisshinbo, I will have the opportunity to learn more about each machine.
Always look into the future while working and take away the aspects that will benefit you in the future, even if your job is unrelated to you major.
