I enjoy the pay and interacting with the residents. Resident interaction makes the job very fulfilling.
What I wish was different
I wish there was more flexibility for hours and scheduling. I take no part in my scheduling except for requesting days off, which aren’t always granted.
Advice
If you are going to work in a nursing home, understand that you will have to work weekends, holidays, and early hours. This is the residents’ home, therefore we never “close”.
