The Office of Naval Research (ONR) sponsors the Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP) which is intended to provide college undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to spend time at Navy laboratories or centers conducting full-time research of mutual interest to students and to the Navy. Saxman One is contracted by ONR to manage NREIP.
The goals of NREIP are to encourage participating college students to pursue science and engineering careers, to further their education via mentoring by laboratory personnel and their participation in research, and to make them aware of Department of the Navy (DoN) research and technology efforts, which can lead to employment within the DoN.
NREIP is providing competitive research internships to approximately 800 college students this year. Participating students spend eight weeks during the summer doing research at 60+ DoN laboratories.
