About Natural Resources Conservation Service

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is a federal government agency that assists farmers and forest land owners to manage and conserve their soil, water, and other natural resources. NRCS employees with a background in environmental science provide technical assistance based on sound science and suited to a customer's specific needs. We provide financial assistance for many conservation activities. Participation in our programs is voluntary.

“The hands on experience, plus doing work I would be doing as a full-time employee at a higher pay scale. The field work requires good teamwork and ability to solve problems on the fly. Office work is important and fulfilling, and requires knowledge learned in school. They are flexible and work with school schedules and understand that school is the priority while interning.”
