My Friend's Place is a resource center and day shelter in Los Angeles providing 1,400 young people ages 12 to 25 experiencing homelessness each year with care, resources and opportunities to support their transition to lives of wellness, stability and self-sufficiency. My Friend's Place utilizes best practices and evidence-informed, innovative programming to increase each youth’s ability to meet their basic physical and emotional needs, identify and connect each young person to relevant community resources, and rebuild each individual’s self-esteem, self-respect, and self-sufficiency. We build trust with homeless young people; lower the traditional barriers many youth experience when attempting to access services; and provide a wide range of services to maximize the psychological, intellectual, and physical capacity of youth in crisis.
