I like that I get to work along side professionals and be immersed in the marketing environment. I am able to learn concepts/strategies that I wouldn't encounter on my own or in a classroom. The working environment is professional, friendly, team oriented and open-minded. Their good work ethic is shown through how they communicate and collaborate with others. Interning at the Museum of Photographic Arts not only helps me gain experience in marketing, but it allows me to be immersed in beautiful Balboa park where I can be surrounded by diverse people, culture and art.
What I wish was different
I don't wish for anything to be different. The people I intern under are encouraging and are insightful when it comes to marketing, communications, writing, graphic design and art. I get to intern for an amazing museum, gain new experiences and meet diverse people.
Advice
My advice would be to admit when you don't know how to do a certain task. It might be overwhelming to be working alongside professionals and feel the need to pretend you know what your doing but they know you are a intern and might be new to that working environment. They are there to help you, guide you and teach you how to work in marketing and communications.
