Murry Ave

Social Media Intern

June 2021 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

Russell is very personable and understanding. If you express interest in something, they are more than willing to let you try it out. Boosted feels like a big family to me, the main reason I have continued my internship with them. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to gain experience!

What I wish was different

That we could have met in person.

Advice

Tell them your interests and get to know them. They are more than willing to help, guide and listen to you as well as allow you to gain experience in all the services they offer

Sales and Marketing Intern

May - September 2021 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

Great atmosphere with a growing company in a growing industry. Boosted is truly doing something unique in a new market of NCAA athletes, which was exciting as a new intern to be working in a developing market. The work was great for a part-time internship and I learned valuable experiences even in the online environment.

Video Producer Intern

April - July 2021 • O'Fallon, IL

What I liked

I liked the independence of being able to work on projects unsupervised after being brief on a project. I also enjoyed that everyone had access to people higher up in leadership roles.

What I wish was different

I would have liked a little more direction before being turned loose. Often the prompts for the videos I was to create were quite minimal and vague.

Advice

This is really a chance to show off what you can do, so don’t be afraid to ask questions, put your own flair on things, and work off what you know how to do. Trust yourself!

Animation Artist Intern

June - September 2021 • Philadelphia, PA

What I liked

Very flexible scheduling and creative freedoms. You get what you put into it!

What I wish was different

I wish there had been more animation specific interns to bounce ideas off of. There were only a small number of us and it felt like we were kind of isolated from the graphic design/video interns.

Advice

Work your hardest for the sake of your portfolio. There isn't an animation specific supervisor, so work in a way that will benefit/make things easier on you in the future.

Graphic Designer Intern

May - September 2021 • Miami, FL

What I liked

I liked the experience of talking to clients and going through the logo making process with them. I enjoyed also diving into looking at trends in sports design to inspire flyers to promo the merchandise.

What I wish was different

I wish the flyer process would have been different. By the end, most flyers were asked to made animated on Canva, which I feel was not beneficial especially since in the industry we will not be using this program

Advice

Communication is key!

Business Marketing

June - August 2021 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

I really enjoyed the whole aspect of what the internship was about. I like video games and I like sports and this is what it was all about. I enjoyed the experience of reaching out and communicating with many well known names. Everyone was very supportive and nice and ready to answer any questions that were asked at any point.

What I wish was different

I wish it was not an online internship and could have been there physically and be around everyone physically as it was sometimes hard to keep up with the group chat and meetings.

Advice

Just try to stay updated and don't be afraid to ask for help. Also don't be afraid of failure or not getting any bites from people you reach out to as it takes time and patience. Just keep trying.

Sales/Marketing Intern

February 2021 • Chattanooga, TN

What I liked

I loved the ability to work my own hours and determine for myself the best methods for successful output, while having a strong support network to keep me upright. The entire Boosted team is a motivated, captivating, and driven group with the innate ability to take advantage of their unique product. I was inspired every day to put forth my best performance because I knew I would see the same effort from every other member of the team.

What I wish was different

I only wish that we had been able to meet in person so that I could talk face to face with my colleagues. Boosted has done a fantastic job adapting to the remote work environment, but I still lean towards preferring an in person workflow.

Advice

Don't give up! Sales is difficult but it is so rewarding once you get the hang of it. The Boosted team will support you all the way and you'll have fun doing it. Good luck!

Sales Intern

May - September 2021 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

I am so glad to have had this opportunity to work as a sales intern for Boosted, especially with this being my first internship. Everyone has a great attitude, is supportive of each other, and is easy to talk to. They have given me the opportunity to learn about sales, college athletics, and martketing and I appreciate everything Boosted had taught me. Boosted has also allowed me to work for their business on my own schedule! I can not wait to see where this company goes in the future, so happy to be a part of the #Boostedfam

What I wish was different

The only thing I wish could have been different with this internship is the fact that it is remote, I would have enjoyed meeting all the other interns in person!

Advice

One piece of advice I would give for this internship is to not give up if you are working in sales especially. Many athletes you reach out to may not answer or may fall through, but do not give up trying to find clients, they are out there!

Sales and marketing intern

April 2021 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

This internship is very flexible and you get out of it what you put in! It’s challenging in a good way, you are put outside of your comfort zone to cold message people but in the end you reap the best rewards. You are given freedom to grow into your position with a great group of people who all help each other. Communication is streamlined and organized and expectations are laid out clearly

What I wish was different

I wish I was able to meet the interns and my team! With this internship being remote our form of communication is through google meets and group me

Advice

Take the risk!! Russell and the team are amazing to work with and will help you grow and give you the opportunities you want based off of your interests. You may be uncomfortable at first but there is no failing, someone is always there to help you out :)

Sales Intern

October 2020 - April 2021 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

As a student at the University of Pittsburgh, Boosted provided me with a wonderful opportunity to gain professional experience while being able to focus on school. Everyone within the company is very positive and optimistic as they continue to ensure that you grow from your experience at Boosted. Being a die hard sports fan it was also exciting to get work with athletes that I have been watching play ever since I was a kid.

What I liked

This is a great internship to learn as the CEO and staff is very kind and want to help you grow, as well as grow the company. During this internship they were very flexible and very understanding of your and their time. I would suggest it to many people as a way to get to know e-commerce and work with friendly people!

What I wish was different

I wish I could have met everyone in person; however, of course COVID 19 stopped this from happening.
