My favorite part of being an orientation leader has to be the connections and friends made during my time there. Not only are you getting to know your entire work group for 2 weeks, but you also serve as a role model for new students. It was an experience that really breaks you out of your shell and become more social with others. Also, it felt more like fun than a job.
What I wish was different
Nothing much, I really enjoyed my time there and the staff all did an amazing job setting up this year's orientation.
Advice
It is definitely a job that requires you to learn and adapt to abrupt situations as each day's schedule could be different. You also have to really be able to speak up and take control of situations as a leader. Social skills are something you need to have or develop during the job so take those into consideration when working! Highly recommend that you join, it's such a core memory.
