Working with kids that want to learn and are always willing to try. Seeing the progress the kids accomplished with their project animals at end of the year.
What I wish was different
That there would have been funding provided for program to offer more opportunities for the students to learn.
Advice
I found the experience rewarding, the confidence these kids gained through training young colts spilled over to their normal lives. Some of the kids were incredibly shy and barely spoke to the adults, by being assertive with their project animal they started to voice their thoughts and experiences. I felt the project gave them confidence and belief in self.
