I loved working with the staff and children every day. There was a lot of variety in the job, as we often worked different activities with different groups. Many days, I even had the opportunity to travel outside of the park and reach other nearby communities!

I would recommend making the most out of every day, even when you are tired. There were so many fun experiences I had that I will cherish forever.

What I liked
Every coworker was extremely friendly and welcoming. If I was unsure about procedures for running a certain program for the first time, a coworker would gladly show me what to do and tell me about their experiences being new in the Park System. Everyone was extremely knowledgable and I learned a great deal over only one summer.
What I wish was different
Driving to different park locations for different programs can be difficult if you do not have reliable transportation.
Advice
This is a great job to come back to year after year if you are in a seasonal summer position, or to work at for years year-round. The job is fun when you get to know your coworkers and knowing how programs are run from experience in the park system will make the job much easier.

I wish that seasonals got weekend/holiday pay, as we worked every weekend.
