What I liked
Fast-paced work and many customers keeps the work from getting boring. Every crew member took turns performing each task, from cooking to cleaning the dining room to dishwashing. Working mostly nights allowed me freedom to sleep in and do what I needed to during the day.
What I wish was different
The nature of food service demands a lot of hours at night and on weekends, making it difficult to maintain relationships with others who are on a more normal 9-5 schedule. This can make it hard to see friends or family and can lead to spending more time alone by necessity. Interacting with customers can sometimes be frustrating.
Advice
Don't let interactions with the customers affect you too much. Remain calm and friendly to both customers and coworkers and you will avoid issues due to unsatisfied customers or interemployee conflict.
