I liked the friends I made the most. The people I met there have become life friends and I know I can count on them. I also liked the flexibility they offered.
What I wish was different
I wish they had different management. It's easy to be promoted which means that there are people who should not be managers working there.
Advice
If you work at a Mod, you have to be fast and willing to learn a lot. It may take some time, but if you're committed to this job then it'll be a breeze.

May - August 2019 • McKinney, TX
What I liked
The people, the food, the easy shifts, the pay, and the roles of dishwashing were all a plus.
What I wish was different
I wish they were more prepared with items that would speed up our cook line (ex: extra plates, extra screens, extra numbers to indicate orders, etc). I also wish that some of the employees and workers were different but that is extremely difficult to control.
Advice
Help others to help yourself.

February 2018 - August 2019 • Rancho Cucamonga, CA
What I liked
At Mod I really likes being around people my age. I liked that 80% of us were in school so we all had common conversations. I enjoyed the fast pace environment as well. I was an All Star which meant I was a trainer so training in the summer before I left for school was enjoyable especially since jobs are not easy at first. I encouraged people to actually keep their job because it does get easier in the end.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have taken the shift lead position earlier when offered. With school it was hard to take it since it required 35+ hours a weeks and I was a full time student.
Advice
I would say that it takes to grow ones craft. Also to not be afraid of a little trial and error.

I liked the pay and the opportunity to create a personal relationships with the guests as well as regulars. We also get tips on top of pay and creating those interactive experiences with guest often helped with tips!
What I wish was different
I wish they hadn’t changed their system up, because it caused a lot of confusion as well as frustration with the squad as well as the customers.
Advice
Show up with a good attitude & an open mind! And get to know the people you work with because the better the bond the better the experience will be for yourself and others!!

What I liked
I loved the work environment. Most summer jobs that i have heard about are monotonous and boring, however working at mod pizza was fun and exciting. Everyone who works there has an abundance of energy and is always optimistic and positive which i loved.
What I wish was different
I wish i had different working hours. I ended up working nights and close most days that i was working.
Advice
Even if a summer job isn’t part of your end career goal, it is a great learning experience for learning to work well with others as well as how to be responsible and hard working.

What I liked
I liked the flexibility of the schedule, the amount of hours one can pick up if desired, the pay, the fact that employees get benefits at just 25 hours worked, and the good relationships between supervisors and workers. It never really seemed like the supervisors "lorded over" workers as in most work environments.
What I wish was different
Because MOD is pretty flexible in who they will bring on, we had a lot of flaky people and this caused short staffing. I wish their hiring process would be a little more rigorous.
Advice
There's a lot of standards, but you're given a lot of freedom too. What you get out of this job is what you put into it.
