I liked that I was working in a small group (1 other main research assistant) that I was friends with and worked well with. We had a good professional relationship with our research professor and were invested in the project, which made for an amazing work environment.
What I wish was different
My experience was virtual, but it would have been cool to do more in-person meetings and work in person with my other research assistant. Since it was the summer, there was nothing to change but it would have been interesting as an in-person experience too!
Advice
Finding projects that you are interested in and invested in makes the experience and learning faster and more fun! Doing internships and research for the content rather than "say you did it" is worlds more valuable. I have been doing this project for 6 months now and have learned so much and had so much fun doing the work.
