What I liked

It was very flexible and I learned a lot about resources available to me as a Wellesley student.

What I wish was different

My supervisor was quite difficult to work with and gave me very menial tasks to do rather than challenging projects.

Each UROP experience is different and your summer is definitely what you make of it!

Summer Researcher

What I liked

I loved working on a project with a group of diverse engineers from MIT and the Netherlands. The work was fast paced with a deadline set by an expedition held by National Geographic. The team was friendly and support and partnerships were offered from many groups.

What I wish was different

I wish it had gone on longer. Because of the expedition, after that, most of my work was documentation, which is important, but I wanted more engineering work. I wish we could have built upon and improved our underwater rover model for future use.

Advice

Although you are not working directly with someone, it is always good to get to know everyone around, as everyone can help in some way, and connections begin to grow.
