I liked that I was directly mentored by professionals and was able to learn relative hands on experience. I was able to learn and apply skills to actual projects. This let me experience what it would be like in the life of a geotechnical engineer/geologist.
What I wish was different
If I did it over again I might try and find housing a little closer. Although, my 1 hour and 15 min commute was not bad, because I travelled doing field work the majority of the time.
Advice
This experience was an amazing way to learn skills that I will use after I graduate, and experience the way a job routine works! I would give the advice to work hard, make connections, and enjoy the new experience!

What I liked
The people made the experience! Everyone was so nice and helpful- they really wanted to see me succeed. The work was interesting yet perfect for someone with little experience; i was able to learn the ropes and feel like i was making a difference.
