I loved the experience of working with kids at a skatepark. As a female, I feel my roll in empowering young girls to feel that they have a right to be in that often male-dominated space is so important. It was also such a beautiful opportunity to teach kids the art of experiencing "failure" or hardship as we move through life.
What I wish was different
I would love to travel more with the kids. There are so many beautiful locations around Montana that have skateparks. It would be a great opportunity to share more of the diversity of park designs and locations with kiddos.
Advice
Kids respect adults who treat them with respect. If you want to earn a child's respect, you need to level with them and treat them as you would want to be treated. I believe this simple value gets overlooked in many adult-children dynamics.
