I liked gaining the experience of doing research in a field that is directly related to my future goals. I studied a statistical method that could theoretically detect gene-gene and gene-environment interaction, which can potentially be applied to linear regression models of diseases.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more statistical knowledge under my belt before I had gone. To fully understand what was being asked of me, I would have needed to take graduate-level statistics courses.
Advice
If you are nervous about not having enough experience for a position, just go for it. No matter what, it will be a learning experience. You can critically analyze your experience and take what you learned to improve future ones.
